went to the record store to get Dear Landlord's new 12", ended up with Gorilla Marketing by The Steinways. check out this songtitle: "(Nobody Wants To) Make Out (With Me (Because I Wear Sweatpants))" Hahahaha. Lead singer's also in a band called Barrakuda McMurder. They have a song on a 4-way split with Like Bats, Strait A's & Rumspringer called "I Just Broke Up (With My Girlfriend (So I Could Write Pop-Punk Songs About It))".

the best part is that they liken "hey usa" to "america, fuck yeah," which is our 'get pumped' jam, we play it on the way to shows, and sing it when we take breaks during practice. they nailed us.

The Please & Thank Yous
Despite the polite name, the Please & Thank Yous are far from goody two-shoes. Just check the local quartet's "The Blow Reilly Factor" (streaming at myspace.com/tpaty), where frontman Geoffrey Schott delivers a hilarious screed that could've earned the crew a mention on the Fox News commentator's "Pinheads and Patriots" segment (sample lyric: "I couldn't even get through the introduction of your book").
Further evidence of the group's offbeat sense of humor can be found by glancing at its MySpace site (Jeremy Upton's contributions are listed as "guitar, aimless banter, stage presence"). But the jokes would mean little if the music didn't work. Fortunately, it does, particularly on the Smoking-Popes-meets-Randy-Newman crunch of "Hey U.S.A.," a clean-cut cousin to "Team America: World Police's" unprintable theme song.
